Born in Incheon, Ki Up Lee studied music at the University Kyung Hee of Seoul. In 2018, he joined the International Academy of Opera of Gand in Belgium. Back in Korea, he sang several main roles on stage: Nathanaël from Les Contes d’Hoffmann by Offenbach, Nemorino from L’Elisir d’amore by Donizetti, Ricccardo from Un ballo in maschera by Verdi, Rodolfo from La Bohème by Puccini. He sang the roles of la Théière, le Petit Vieillard and la Rainette in L’Enfant et les sortilèges by Ravel first at the Bozar of Brussels and then on the stage of the Palais Garnier on January 2020. He won several first prizes in international competitions such as Yongsan Eum jung haung National competition and the Belvedere international competition. Ki Up Lee joined the Paris Opera Academy in September 2019 and made his stage debut as Bastien in the French version of Mozart’s Opera Bastien und Bastienne.
