Born in Belgium, Julian Klausner’s deep interest for fashion began early, leading him to study at La Cambre in Brussels, where he built a strong foundation in design and creative direction in both men’s and womenswear. This education prepared him to navigate the complexities of contemporary fashion and set him on a career path shaped by hands-on experience in some of the industry’s most influential studios.
In 2013, Julian joined the studio at Kenzo under the direction of Carole Lim & Humberto Leon, where he gained valuable insights into the dynamics of studio life, refining his skills in team collaboration and adaptability. Two years later, in 2015, he joined Maison Margiela, where working alongside John Galliano provided the opportunity to contribute to a globally respected creative process, further sharpening his attention to detail and precision craft.
Since joining Dries Van Noten in 2018, Julian has taken on pivotal roles that have shaped the brand’s creative direction. As head of womenswear, he played a key role in the celebrated collaboration with Christian Lacroix, overseeing critical aspects of the project’s development. Over time, Julian has become a trusted partner to Dries, managing casting, image direction, and studio operations while fostering a motivated and cohesive team.
