The American soprano Jessica Faselt won the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in New York in 2018 and received the Birgit Nilsson Prize from the American-Scandinavian Foundation. A member of the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program from 2018 to 2021, she made her company debut in 2018 as a Novice (Suor Angelica).
In recent seasons, she has performed Freia (Das Rheingold) in Atlanta, the First Lady (The Magic Flute) in New York, Helmwige (Die Walküre) with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel, and subsequently on tour in Baden-Baden, Dortmund and Paris under Yannick Nézet-Séguin. She has also performed Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) in Cincinnati, Helmwige in Santa Fe, the Voice of the Falcon (Die Frau ohne Schatten) in New York, and Sieglinde (Die Walküre) with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
She recently sang Sieglinde (Die Walküre) with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and performed Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the San Francisco Symphony.
