Biography

American baritone Jarrett Ott has made a name for himself on the great opera stages in a varied repertoire. At the Santa Fe Opera, he sang the roles of Harlequin (Ariadne auf Naxos), Maximilian (Candide), Masetto and Guglielmo (Don Giovanni and Così fan tutte). He makes his European debut at Berlin's Deutsche Oper in the role of the Angel (Scartazzini's Edward II).

Between 2018 and 2020, he makes numerous appearances at the Stuttgart Opera in the roles of Figaro (The Barber of Seville), Marcello (La Bohème), Dandini (La Cenerentola), Chou En-lai (Nixon in China), Orestes (Iphigénie en Tauride), Valentin (Faust) and the Count (The Marriage of Figaro). He also performs in concert with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the baton of Esa-Pekka Salonen. In recent seasons, he has appeared as the Marquis d'Obigny (La Traviata) at the Philadelphia Opera, Aeneas (Dido and Aeneas) at the Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg, Marcello in Raleigh, Dandini in Munich and Stuttgart, Figaro (The Barber of Seville) in Stuttgart, Dr. John Seward (The Lord of the Rings) in Stuttgart, and as a soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. John Seward (The Lord of Cries) in Santa Fe and Boston, Lescaut (Manon) at Barcelona's Gran Teatre del Liceu and Don Pedro de Alvarado (The Indian Queen) at the Salzburg Festival.

In the 2023-2024 season, he performs the role of Macbeth (Macbeth Underworld) at the Opéra Comique and the title role of Samson at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence.
