Born in Buenos Aires, Fabián Schofrin studied cello and voice before settling in Europe in 1993, where he has since devoted himself to the performance of 17th- and 18th-century music. As a singer, he has collaborated with several ensembles specializing in this repertoire, including Les Arts Florissants, conducted by William Christie. Since 2005, he has been a founding member of Cappella Mediterranea, with which he has taken part in numerous productions and recordings, both as a singer and as artistic director of recordings.
As a musical and artistic assistant, he has collaborated on the following productions under the direction of Leonardo García-Alarcón: La Guerra de los Gigantes by Durón, Eliogabalo, Il Giasone, Erismena and Pompeo Magno by Cavalli, El Prometeo by Draghi, King Arthur by Purcell, Médée by Charpentier, Les Indes galantes by Rameau, Alcina by Handel, La finta pazza by Sacrati, Il Palazzo incantato by Rossi, Orfeo, L’Incoronazione di Poppea, Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria, and I Grotteschi by Monteverdi. As a dramaturge, he worked on Cavalli’s Pompeo Magno in Bayreuth.
