Biography

Elena Stikhina completed her studies at the Moscow State Conservatory in 2012 and quickly came to European attention when she won first prize at the Competizione dell’Opera Linz in 2014 and then in 2016 by winning the Audience and Culturarte Prizes at Placido Domingo’s Competition ‘Operalia'. 

After her Paris Opera debut (Tatiana in Eugene Onegin) and her New York Metropolitan Opera debut (the title-role in Suor Angelica), she is invited on the world's greatest operatic stages (Bayerische Staatsoper, Berlin Staatsoper, Dresden Semperoper, Baden-Baden Festival) and concert halls (Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Munich Philharmonic, Philharmonie de Paris). 

She has performed the lead role in Tosca as well as Leonora (Il Trovatore) in Berlin and Dresden, Senta (Der fliegende Holländer) in Baden Baden and Munich, Suor Angelica in New York, Brunnhilde (Siegfried) and Gutrune (Göterdämmerung) in the Philharmonie de Paris, Tosca, Leonora (La Forza del destino) and Iaroslavna (Prince Igor) at the Paris Opera, the title-roles in Médée at the Salzburg Festival, Aida at the Grand Théâtre in Geneva and the Dutch National Opera, and Salome at La Scala in Milan. 

She is a soloist guest at the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg after she forged herself a repertoire on the Vladivostock Mariinsky Theatre's New Primorsky Stage, and there she has sung the lead role of Aida, Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Renata in The Fiery Angel, Antonia in The Tales of Hoffmann, Elisabeth in Tannhäuser and Mimi in La Bohème

During seasons 2021/22, she performed the title-roles in Tosca at the Royal Opera House in London, the Vienna Staatsoper and the New York Metropolitan Opera, in Salome at the Zurich Opernhaus, Lisa in The Queen of Spades at the Baden-Baden Festival and in Berlin with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as Tatiana in Eugene Onegin at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples and the title-role in Aida at the Salzburg Festival.
