Elena Stikhina graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory in 2012 and quickly gained recognition in Europe by winning first prize at the Competizione dell’Opera in Linz in 2014, as well as the Audience Prize and Culturarte Prize at the Operalia Plácido Domingo Competition in 2016. She has sung the title roles of Tosca and Leonora (Il Trovatore) in Berlin and Dresden, Senta (The Flying Dutchman) in Baden-Baden and Munich, and the title roles of Medea at the Salzburg Festival, Aida at the Grand Théâtre de Genève and the Amsterdam National Opera, and Salome at La Scala in Milan.
She became a guest soloist at the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg after developing her repertoire at the New Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in Vladivostok. Last season, she performed the title roles in Tosca in Berlin, Aida in Munich, and Manon Lescaut and Salome in Zurich. In the 2025–2026 season, she will sing the title roles in Iolanta, Tosca, and Salome in Vienna, Norma in Munich, and Cio-Cio-San (Madame Butterfly) in New York.
