Ekaterina Sannikova was a member of the Atkins Young Artists Program at the Mariinsky Theatre, where she has since performed as a guest soloist in roles including Maddalena (Andrea Chénier), Leonora (Il Trovatore), Chrysothemis (Elektra), Sieglinde (Die Walküre), Elettra (Idomeneo), Iguamota (Christophe Colomb), Joan of Arc (La Pucelle d'Orléans), Kupava (The Snow Maiden), and the title role of Ariadne auf Naxos. Her recent engagements include the title role of Aida at the Frankfurt Opera and the Oper im Steinbruch Festival, Tatiana (Eugene Onegin) at the Zurich Opera, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, and Komische Oper Berlin, and Nastassia Filippovna (Weinberg’s The Idiot) at the Theater an der Wien.
She has also performed Leonora at the Stuttgart State Opera and the National Opera of Korea, Lisa (The Queen of Spades) at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Abigaille (Nabucco) at the Oper im Steinbruch Festival, and the title role of Tosca at Deutsche Oper am Rhein and Teatro Massimo Bellini. In the 2025–2026 season, she will make her debut at La Scala in Milan as Aksinya (Lady Macbeth of Mzensk), appear in the title role of Madame Butterfly at the Leipzig Opera, and perform the title role of Francesca da Rimini at the Teatro Regio in Turin and the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
Debut at the Paris Opera.
