After graduating in flute at the age of seventeen, Italian mezzo-soprano Cecilia Molinari began her vocal studies in 2009 at the Padua Conservatory of Music, where she graduated with honors. Alongside music, she also completed her studies at Padua's University of Medicine and Surgery in 2015.
Highlights of her recent seasons include Rosina (The Barber of Seville) at the Vienna Staatsoper, Berlin Deutsche Oper, Dresden Semperoper and Rome Opera, Dorabella (Così fan tutte) at the Vienna Staatsoper, Cherubino (The Marriage of Figaro) at the Dresden Semperoper and Seville Teatro de la Maestranza, Béatrice (Béatrice et Bénédict) at Opéra national de Lyon, Idamante (Idomeneo) at Opéra national d'Amsterdam and Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Sesto (Giulio Cesare) at Opéra national d'Amsterdam, Meg Page (Falstaff) at the Salzburg Festival, Abenamet (Zoraïde de Grenade) at the Bergamo Donizetti Festival.
In addition to her operatic roles, Cecilia Molinari has performed in concerts with renowned orchestras such as the Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Insula Orchestra, the Orchestra Sinfonica della RAI, the PKF-Prague Philharmonia, and the Borusan Philharmonic Orchestra in Istanbul. During the 2025–2026 season, she will make her U.S. debut as Dorabella at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, perform as Cherubino at the National Opera of Amsterdam, and return to La Fenice in Venice and the Carlo Felice in Genoa.
