Cassandre Berthon Soprano

Biography

Cassandre Berthon began playing the violin at the age of four and took her first singing lessons at sixteen with Camille Mauranne. Initially a chamber musician, she quickly won several competitions and performed roles such as Cherubino and Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Tebaldo (The Capulets and the Montagues), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Gilda (Rigoletto), Octavia (Cleopatra), as well as title roles in Véronique, Cinderella, and Iphigenia in Aulis. She has appeared in several filmed productions (Orpheus in the Underworld, The Coronation of Poppea, The Marriage of Figaro).

Her discography includes a recording dedicated to Offenbach (Opera Rara), a tribute to Charpentier and Molière, and various contributions to complete recordings, including L’Étranger by Vincent d’Indy. She also appears in the film L’Étrangère and the documentary Ludovic. After temporarily pausing her career to deal with a disabling medical condition, she returned to the stage and turned toward teaching and masterclasses. During the 2025–2026 season, she performs Oscar (Un ballo in maschera) and Fenena (Nabucco) in Naples.
