Caroline Wettergreen Singer

Biography

Caroline Wettergreen studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music and at the Opera Academy in Copenhagen, Denmark. She made her professional debut at the Norwegian National Opera in the role of Adelaide (Lulu).

In recent seasons, she has performed the roles of the Queen of the Night (The Magic Flute) at the Vienna State Opera, Berlin State Opera Unter den Linden, Canadian Opera Company in Toronto, Royal Opera House in London, and the Glyndebourne Festival; Blonde (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Ophelia (Hamlet), the Nightingale (Les Oiseaux), the Princess (The Snow Queen), and Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel) at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich; Oscar (Un ballo in maschera) at the Royal Danish Opera; Gilda (Rigoletto), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), and Zerlina (Don Giovanni) at the Norwegian National Opera; the Fairy (Cendrillon) with Glyndebourne on Tour and at the Komische Oper Berlin; Johanna (Sweeney Todd) at the Bergen National Opera; Ariel (The Tempest) at the Vienna State Opera; and Olympia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann) at the Hamburg State Opera. During the 2025–2026 season, she performs Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos) at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich.
