Bogdan Volkov studied singing at the Glière Institute of Music in Kyiv. In 2013, he completed his training at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine. He then joined the Young Artists Program at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, becoming a member of the company.
In 2022 and 2023, he was a member of the ensemble at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin. Named Singer of the Year by Opernwelt and nominated for the International Opera Awards, he won first prize and the Audience Prize at the Paris Opera Competition in 2015, and second prize at the Operalia Plácido Domingo Competition in 2016.
In recent seasons, he has performed Prince Guidon (The Tale of Tsar Saltan) at La Monnaie in Brussels, Ferrando (Così fan tutte) and Prince Myshkin (Weinberg’s The Idiot) at the Salzburg Festival, Lenski (Eugene Onegin), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), and Ferrando at the Vienna State Opera, Tamino (The Magic Flute) and Alfredo (La Traviata) at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, Lenski at Teatro Real in Madrid and at the Hamburg State Opera, and Prince Guidon at Teatro Real in Madrid.
In the 2025–2026 season, he will perform, among other roles, Fenton (Falstaff) in Brussels, Don Ottavio, the Chevalier de La Force (Dialogues of the Carmelites), and Lenski in Vienna, and Tamino in Munich.
Debut at the Paris National Opera.
