Born in Omagh, Northern Ireland, Annemarie Woods designs sets and costumes for theatre, opera, and ballet. In 2011, she won the Ring Award in Graz and the European Opera Prize alongside director Sam Brown.
She has designed sets and costumes for Don Giovanni at the Lithuanian National Opera and in Bergen, Rigoletto at Welsh National Opera, Polifemo at the Strasbourg National Opera, Semele, Trouble in Tahiti, and A Quiet Place at the Royal Opera House in London, Il Trovatore in London and Zurich, The Marriage of Figaro in Munich, The Rape of Lucretia in London and at Snape Maltings, Billy Budd at the Finnish National Opera and the Norwegian National Opera, Eugene Onegin at Scottish Opera, and The Lighthouse at the Irish National Opera.
Among her costume designs are Coriolanus at the National Theatre, The Excursions of Mr. Brouček in Berlin and Brno, Orfeo, Romeo and Juliet, Girl with a Pearl Earring, and Sweeney Todd in Zurich, La Gioconda in Salzburg, Aida in London, Coppélia with Scottish Ballet, Don Quixote with the Royal Danish Ballet, Pagliacci / Cavalleria Rusticana in Amsterdam, Madame Butterfly in Montpellier, A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Berlin, La Traviata in Berlin, and Pity at the Royal Court Theatre.
Debut at the Paris National Opera.
