Biography

Finalist in the Francisco Viñas and Operalia competitions amongst others, Annalisa Stroppa studied at the Brescia Conservatoire. She has performed in some the world’s most prestigious opera houses with conductors such as Yves Abel, Bruno Campanella, Asher Fisch, Fabio Luisi, Riccardo Muti, Renato Palumbo, Marcello Rota, Christophe Rousset, Hubert Soudant, Graeme Jenkins and Yutaka Sado. She has taken part in the following productions: I due Figaro by Mercadante (Cherubino) at the Salzburg and Ravenna Festivals, at the Teatro Real in Madrid and the Teatro Colòn in Buenos Aires with Riccardo Muti; Romeo and Juliet (Stephano) at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa with Fabio Luisi; Il Marito Disperato by Cimarosa at the San Carlo Opera in Naples with Christophe Rousset, The Barber of Seville (Rosina) in Rome with Bruno Campanella; The Marriage of Figaro (Cherubino) at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Piacenza, Modena and Lausanne; Fenena (Nabucco) at the Teatro Massimo in Palerma with Renato Palumbo.
During the 2013 – 2014 season, she sang the role of Rosina at the Berlin Deutsche Oper, at the Lausanne Opera and at the Thermes de Caracalla in Rome; Dorabella in Così fan tutte in Sassari, the title role in Carmen at the Limoges Opera, Fenena at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Lisetta (Il Mondo della luna) in Monte-Carlo, Adalgisa (Norma) at the Teatro Massimo in Palerma and Stephano (Romeo and Juliet) in Verona.
During last year’s season she sang Rosina at the Liceu in Barcelona, at the New Israeli Opera in Tel-Aviv and at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona; Adalgisa in Barcelona, Valladolid and at the Staatstheater in Wiesbaden, Lola (Cavalleria Rusticana) in Salzburg under the direction of Christian Thielemann, Hänsel (Hänsel et Gretel) at the Teatro Regio in Turin and Emilia (Otello by Rossini) at La Scala Milan.

Forthcoming performances: Ascanio (Benvenuto Cellini) at the Liceu in Barcelona, Maddalena (Rigoletto) at La Scala Milan, the title role in La Cenerentola in Tel-Aviv, Rosina in Bilbao and Monte-Carlo, Enrichetta (I Puritani) and Annio (La Clemenza di Tito) at the Teatro Real in Madrid and Dorabella at the Rouen Opera.
