Born in California, Angel Blue studied music at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles). She has performed in over forty countries, including Hungary, Kazakhstan, India, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, South Korea, China, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Brazil, and Mexico. She has sung roles such as Violetta (La Traviata), Bess (Porgy and Bess), and Destiny / Loneliness / Greta (Terrence Blanchard’s Fire Shut Up in My Bones).
She is the recipient of two Grammy Awards, the 2020 Beverly Sills Award, and the 2022 Richard Tucker Award. Last season, she appeared as a soloist at the BBC Proms in London and performed the roles of Margarita Xirgu (Ainadamar) and the title role in Aida at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. In the 2025–2026 season, she will sing roles including Liù (Turandot) and Mimi (La Bohème) in New York, as well as Bess in Houston.
