Originally from California, Alex Rosen trained at the Juilliard School. He made his international debut with Les Arts Florissants under the direction of William Christie on two tours of Haydn’s The Creation and Handel’s Acis and Galatea.
He participated in the tour of David et Jonathas from the Théâtre de Caen across France and has performed roles including Alidoro (La Cenerentola) at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse; the Pastor and the Badger (The Cunning Little Vixen) at the Detroit Opera; Time, Neptune, and Antinous (Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria) as well as Jupiter (La Calisto by Cavalli) at the Aix-en-Provence Festival; Raphael (The Creation) at the Cologne Opera; the King of Scotland (Ariodante) at the Opéra national du Rhin; Melisso (Alcina) on tour with Il Pomo d’Oro; and Seneca (L’incoronazione di Poppea) with the Nederlandse Reisopera.
He also appears at the Amsterdam National Opera in the world premiere of Philip Venables’ We Are The Lucky Ones. During the 2025–2026 season, he will perform Valens (Theodora) on tour with the Jupiter Ensemble, Achilla (Giulio Cesare) with Il Pomo d’Oro, and Bach’s St. Matthew Passion with Pygmalion and with Arcangelo.
