Born in 1985 in Rueil-Malmaison, Alex Diep began studying the violin at the age of six at the Conservatoire de Créteil. After earning his Diplôme d’études musicales in 2003, he pursued musicology studies at the Sorbonne before entering the Lyon National Superior Conservatory of Music, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Performance with highest honors, as well as a Master’s degree in Chamber Music. He then further refined his chamber music skills with the Trio Wanderer at the Paris Higher Music Center as a member of the Trio Palmer.
In 2018, he founded the Zélos Duo with percussionist Sylvain Borredon. He performs regularly with major orchestras (Orchestre National de France, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, among others) and has been a member of the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Lyon, then served as co–concertmaster with the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine. Since 2023, he has been a rank-and-file violinist with the Orchestra of the Paris National Opera.
