Synopsis
Recitals are offered to families and school groups, giving young audiences the opportunity to discover the voice in the intimate setting of the Studio Bastille. Guided in their listening experience by the musicians, students can also meet and talk with the artists after the recital.
This recital pays tribute to Florence Price, the first African American woman composer whose work was performed by a symphony orchestra in 1933. At the crossroads of European and African American traditions, Florence Price stands out as a pioneer of classical music in the United States.
