Amphithéâtre Olivier Messiaen - from 15 to 20 December 2016

Synopsis

Lapping water, a small boat, three young girls, an oarsman who turns into a pendulum and assumes the appearance of a rabbit… who are these characters? What are they doing? Doors of all shapes and sizes enable us to glimpse a strange, fantastic world where Alice changes character, and alternately grows and shrinks… Based loosely on the Lewis Caroll classic, Alice in Wonderland, Jack Timmermans’ choreography relies on a constant interplay of transformations. Accompanied by music specifically composed for the occasion by Timothy van der Holst, one male dancer and three female dancers abandon themselves to humour-filled wild chases, rhythmic dancing solos or ensembles in duos and trios, in an ingeniously adjustable set which recreates the shifting realms of a world of dreams.
