Artist in residence at the Academy since September 2026
Originally from Ukraine, Yurii Strakhov studied classical singing at the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music. A member of the Opera Studio of the Bern University of the Arts from 2020 to 2023, he subsequently joined the Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
His repertoire includes the roles of Fiorello (The Barber of Seville), Papageno (The Magic Flute), Marullo (Rigoletto), and the title role in Don Giovanni.
A prize-winner in several competitions, he notably won First Prize at the AsLiCo International Competition in Como (2022), Third Prize at the Salice d’Oro Competition in Vienna (2022), and the Fondazione Piero Cappuccilli Special Prize at the Città di Alessandria International Competition.
Yurii Strakhov joined the Academy of the Paris National Opera in September 2026.
