Born in 1995 in San Sebastián, Xabier Anduaga trained with the Orfeón Donostiarra and at the Centro Superior de Música del País Vasco, before continuing his studies with Elena Barbé. In 2016, he took part in the Rossini Opera Festival Academy, where he made his stage debut in Il viaggio a Reims.
He quickly established himself in the bel canto repertoire and performs on major international opera stages. A prizewinner at the Operalia in 2019 (First Prize and Zarzuela Prize), he also received the International Opera Awards for Best Young Singer in 2021.
His repertoire includes the roles of Nemorino (L’Elisir d’amore), Alfredo (La Traviata), Tonio (La Fille du régiment), the Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto), Ernesto (Don Pasquale), Elvino (La Sonnambula), and Arturo (I Puritani). During the 2025–2026 season, he notably performs the title role in Werther at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, as well as Elvino at the Metropolitan Opera, Alfredo at the Vienna State Opera, and at the Rome Opera House.
