Graduated from the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music and the V. S. Popov Academy of Choral Art, Vasilisa Berzhanskaya trained at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, the Rossini Opera Academy in Pesaro, and the Salzburg Festival before joining the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Winner of the 2021 International Opera Awards, she performs on the world’s leading opera stages (Vienna State Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Royal Ballet and Opera, Metropolitan Opera in New York, La Scala in Milan, Rome Opera, Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Salzburg Festival, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Arena di Verona, etc.). She has collaborated with conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Daniele Gatti, Riccardo Chailly, Michele Mariotti, and Gianluca Capuano.
Her repertoire includes Romeo (I Capuleti e i Montecchi), Sara (Roberto Devereux), Giovanna Seymour (Anna Bolena), Anna (Maometto II), Sinaide (Moïse et Pharaon), Corinna (Il viaggio a Reims), Angelina (La Cenerentola), Rosina (The Barber of Seville), Charlotte (Werther), Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), as well as the title roles in Norma and Carmen. During the 2025–2026 season, she makes her role debuts as Semiramide and Agrippina, and sings Adalgisa (Norma) and Pamyra (The Siege of Corinth).
