Vasilisa Berzhanskaya Soprano

Biography

Vasilisa Berzhanskaya is a graduate of the Russian Gnessine Academy of Music and the V.S. Popov Academy of Choral Art. She was a member of the Bolshoi Theater Moscow Youth Opera Program from 2015 to 2017, a member of the Rossini Opera Academy in Pesaro in 2016, a member of the Salzburg Festival Young Artists Program in 2017, and a soloist at the Deutsche Oper Berlin from 2017 to 2019. Winner of the International Opera Awards 2021, she performs on the most important international opera stages: Vienna State Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, London Royal Opera House, New York Metropolitan Opera, Milan La Scala, Rome Opera, Pesaro Rossini Festival, Salzburg Festival, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Verona Arena and Munich Bayerische Staatsoper.

She has worked with conductors such as Alberto Zedda, Zubin Mehta, Andrea Marcon, Daniele Gatti, Giacomo Sagripanti, Donald Runnicles, Mariss Jansons, Michele Mariotti, Enrique Mazzola, Dmitri Iourovski, Vladimir Jurowski, Stefano Montanari, Mark Elder, Alexander Vedernikov, Dmitry Korchak, Daniel Oren, Dmitry Sinkovsky, Daniele Rustioni, Roberto Abbado, Gianluca Capuano, Asher Fisch, Emmanuel Villaume, Diego Mateuz, Riccardo Chailly and George Petrou. His repertoire includes the great roles of the Belcan, Baroque and French repertoire: Romeo (Les Capulet et les Montaigu), Sara (Roberto Devereux), Giovanna Seymour (Anna Bolena), Anna (Maometto II), Sinaide (Moise et Pharaon), Corinne (Le Voyage à Reims), Angelina (La Cenerentola), Rosine (Le Barbier de Séville), Charlotte (Werther), Tatiana (Eugène Onéguine) and the title roles in Norma and Carmen. She will soon debut in the title roles of Semiramide, Alcina and Agrippina, as well as Adalgisa (Norma), Mimi (La Bohème), Liu (Turandot) and Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte).
