Biography

Born in Seoul, Taesung Lee studied opera singing in Korea at Han Yang University (Seoul). In 2009, he joined the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan to continue his studies. There, he sang the Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto) in the Sala Verdi.

In 2013, he joined the CNIPAL, with whom he has performed extensively at the Opéra de Marseille, in Avignon and Toulon. He has won numerous awards, including second prize in the Simionato International Competition (Acqui Terme, 2015) and second prize in the Fraschini International Competition (Pavia, 2015). He performed Alfredo (La Traviata) at the Teatro sociale di Balmuccia (Vercelli) in 2012, Lieder by Brahms and Schumann at the Sala delle Colonne (Rho) in 2015, Pinkerton (Madame Butterfly) at the Sarzana Festival Opera in 2016, Calaf (Turandot) at the Sofia National Theater (Sofia) in 2017. He has been a member of the Opéra national de Paris Chorus since 2019.
