Biography
Sunghyun Lee began playing the cello at the age of six and graduated from Sunwha Arts High School in Seoul. He then entered the Korea National University of the Arts in Seoul. In September 2021, he entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in Emmanuelle Bertrand's class.
He takes part in numerous masterclasses, including those of Arto Noras, Pieter Wispelwey, Valentin Erben, Peter Bruns and Julius Berger. He joined the Verbier Festival Orchestra in 2023, performing with such great conductors as Zubin Mehta, Daniele Gatti, Simon Rattle, Charles Dutoit and Klaus Mäkelä.
Sunghyun Lee joins the Académie de l'Opera national de Paris in September 2024.
