Biography

Winner of the Campoamor Prize and the Codalario Prize in the category Best New Artist of the Year 2015, Ruth Iniesta made her operatic debut at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid in 2012. 

She has been since a regular guest at opera venues and institutions such as the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Festival Rossini in Pesaro, the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, the Staatskapelle in Berlin, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid. Her opera and zarzuela repertoires include L’Elisir d’amore, Don Pasquale, Werther, Falstaff, La vida breve, The Pearls Fishers, La donna del lago, La del manojo de rosas, Doña Francisquita, El huésped del sevillano… 

She also sang in Lucia di Lammermoor (Lucia) and La Bohème (Musetta) in Bologna, Il viaggio a Reims (Madame Cortese) at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia, I Puritani (Elvira) at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo and the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Turandot (Liù), Carmen (Micaela) and The Barber of Seville (Rosina) at the Verona Arena, Don Giovanni (Donna Anna) at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Rigoletto (Gilda) at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, at the Teatro Regio in Turin and the Maggio Musicale in Florence, Don Pasquale (Norina) at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona and the Vienna Staatsoper, Falstaff (Nannetta) at the Teatro Real in Madrid, La Traviata (Violetta Valéry) in Palermo, Lucia di Lammermoor (Lucia) and Rossini's Little Solemn Mass in Verona, La Traviata (Violetta Valéry) and La del manojo de rosas à Madrid,a Zarzuela gala in Saragossa, The Merry Widow (Valencienne) in Padoue and Mozart’s Requiem in Venice, Turandot (Liù) in Verona, Doña Francisquita (title-role) in Valencia, La Bohème (Musetta) in Madrid…
