Ronny Dietrich
Dramatist
Biography
Ronny Dietrich studied musicology and dramaturgy in her home town of Frankfurt. She works as a dramaturg since 1981.
First, she worked at the Alte Oper Frankfurt (1981-1985) and the Wiener Konzerthaus (1985-1990), after which she became opera dramaturg in Kiel (1990-1993) and Opernhaus Zürich (1993-2012). From 2012 to 2016, she directed the Dramaturgy and Publishing Department at the Salzburg Festival.
She has been collaborating with Claus Guth and Christian Schmidt regularly since the production Fierrabras (Schubert) in 2002: Radamisto, Ariane et Barbe-Bleue, Ariadne auf Naxos, Tristan und Isolde at Zurich Opernhaus, Lucio Silla and Orlando at Theater an der Wien and Teatro Real Madrid, Les nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni and Fidelio at the Salzburg Festival, Parsifal at Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, Die Frau ohne Schatten and Lohengrin at Teatro alla Scala Milan, La clemenza di Tito in Glyndebourne.
