Biography
Artist in Residence at the Academy since September 2026
Pierre-Jean Sébirot began his musical training in Germany at the Musikschule in Donaueschingen, where he studied piano and chamber music. He continued his studies at the Conservatoire d’Angers and then at the Conservatoire de Versailles Grand Parc.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in musicology from Sorbonne Université and specialised in piano accompaniment under Caroline Esposito and in vocal coaching at the Conservatoire de Courbevoie. He took part in productions of Faust and The Magic Flute with Lab’Opéra des Hauts-de-Seine, working as an accompanist and assistant vocal coach. Alongside his work as a pianist, he studied composition with Jean-Baptiste Robin.
His work now focuses primarily on opera. He collaborates regularly with the Opera è Mobile company, performing with them at the Festival Off d’Avignon in La Traviata in 2023, and later in The Marriage of Figaro at the Shanghai International Arts Festival in 2024. In 2025, he joined the Radio France Children’s Choir as a vocal coach.
He is the recipient of the Federico Mompou Performance Prize and has performed as a soloist in Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with the Orchestre Alphonse Daudet, among other engagements.
Pierre-Jean Sébirot joined the Paris Opera Academy in September 2026.
