Biography

Passionate about voice and opera, Paul Coispeau studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) in vocal accompaniment with Anne Le Bozec and Emmanuel Olivier, and in voice direction with Erika Guiomar and Nathalie Dang. He previously studied piano accompaniment with Jean-Frédéric Neuburger.

At the same time, he studied orchestral conducting first at the Pôle Supérieur Paris-Boulogne and then at the CNSMDP. Finally, he completed his training with a master’s degree in writing at the CNSMDP and a degree in Music and Musicology at the Sorbonne.

He regularly collaborates with companies and orchestras on various productions such as Carmen, Aida, Madame Butterfly and Così fan tutte. Also interested in contemporary creation, he participated in the revival of Like Flesh by Sivan Eldar at the Opéra national de Lorraine under the direction of Maxime Pascal.

Since 2021, he has been the conductor and accompanist of Mary Saint-Palais’ singing class at the CRR of Rueil-Malmaison. In 2022, Paul Coispeau participated in the singing residency of the Festival International d’Aix-en-Provence, and in 2023 he takes part in the Jeunes Talents season with the soprano Apolline Raï-Westphal. He also performed in recital at the Fauré Festival with the soprano Cyrielle Ndjiki Nya.

Paul Coispeau joins the Académie de l’Opéra national de Paris in September 2023.
