Biography
Creating beams of light while remaining in the shadows—that is the path Nicolas Tallec follows “blindly,” instinctively drawn to the mysterious dialogue between light and darkness. He fell in love with hip hop in 1999 upon encountering Compagnie S’poart during their residency at Le Manège, the national stage of Le Grand R in La Roche-sur-Yon. After various ventures in the world of theater—particularly with Théâtre Icare in Saint-Nazaire—and ten years as a musician, he shifted direction. From then on, he began designing lighting for stage, starting with Extra Luna in 2001 for Compagnie S’poart.
Nicolas Tallec plays with the unexpected, creates interference, and translates movement into light. Over the past 20 years, he has primarily worked with dance companies such as Chriki’Z, S’poart, La Chute Libre, Amala Dianor, and Flowcus, serving as lighting designer, scenographer, lighting manager, and technical director.
