Natalia Kutateladze Mezzo-soprano

Biography

Born into a family of musicians from Tbilisi, Natalia Kutateladze is a former student of the Juilliard School and the Opera Studio of the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. She performs on the major international opera stages. Previous engagements include her debut as Carmen at Santiago's Teatro Municipal, and regular appearances at Munich's Bayerische Staatsoper, in Rusalka, Parsifal, Il Trittico and La Traviata. Natalia Kutateladze has worked with conductors such as Kirill Petrenko, Simone Young, Keri-Lynn Wilson, Daniele Callegari, Marco Armiliato, Antonino Fogliani, Michael Christie and Bertrand de Billy, as well as with directors such as Pierre Audi, Lotte de Beer, Axel Ranisch, Barbara Wysocka, Günter Krämer and Martin Kušej.

In the 2023-2024 season, she makes her Wigmore Hall debut in a recital with pianist Iain Burnside. The coming seasons will see her take on a series of roles and make her debut at major institutions. She will be seen at the Opéra national de Paris, the Teatro Municipal de Santiago and on several occasions at the Tbilisi State Opera Theatre. She won second prize in the Francisco Viñas competition in 2020 and was a finalist in the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition in 2021.
