Mélinda Corgnet Viola

Biography

She began to play the violin at the age of six and obtained her D.E.M. diploma for violin at the age of 19 at the CRR regional Conservatory in Caen. She was then accepted into the viola class of Olivier Grimoin at the CRD in Aulnay-sous-Bois for specialized training. After obtaining her D.E.M. diploma for viola in June 2011, she was unanimously awarded the prize of distinction with highest honours in June 2013. In 2014, she enrolled at the CRR regional conservatory in Paris for the class of Laurent Verney, in the orchestra training department. During the 2014-2015 season, she played with the Orchestre Français des Jeunes, under the musical direction of Dennis Russell Davies, then at the European Union Youth Orchestra with conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy, and finally at the Academy of the Orchestre de Paris under the musical direction of Christoph von Dohnányi, Yutaka Sado and Paavo Järvi. As of September 2015, she will be in residence at the Paris Opera’s Academy.
