Manon Vergotte

Biography
Daughter of an artist mother who immersed her in art from a very young age, Manon Vergotte first approached theater through acting. After two years pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Dramatic Arts at the University of Nice alongside performance studies at the conservatory, she decided to complete her degree in Montreal at the École Supérieure de Théâtre de l’UQÀM, specializing in scenography. Following this year of discovery in Quebec, she refined her technical skills for a year at a Global Design school before joining the DPEA scenography program at the School of Architecture in Nantes, from which she graduated as a scenographer. In 2019, she entered ENSATT in Lyon to study lighting design, graduating in 2022 with a creation-based thesis focused on representing the course of the sun.
Today, Manon works as a scenographer and/or lighting designer with theater companies such as Les Sans Roi, H Théâtre, URDIN, Rouge Ciel, La Lenteur, La Tendre Lenteur, and Compagnie du 1er août. She continues her research on representations of the sun in collaboration with directors Georgia Tavarez (Une chambre à soi), David Guez and Édouard Eftimakis (Sur la Route d’Eden), and Magrit Coulon (L’AVENIR).
She also collaborates with artists from other disciplines, including circus (Cie Scom), dance (H Théâtre), and clown (Compagnie des Choses Humaines).
