A graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, Lorraine Campet was the second solo double bassist of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France from 2015 to 2022. She is regularly invited as principal double bass by ensembles such as MusicAeterna, Utopia, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
She has performed under the baton of Teodor Currentzis, Daniel Harding, Gustavo Dudamel, Daniele Gatti, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Lahav Shani, Gianandrea Noseda, and Sir Antonio Pappano.
Lorraine Campet teaches at the IESM in Aix-en-Provence and regularly gives masterclasses worldwide. She has won several international competitions and performs in recitals and concerts both in France and abroad.
She plays an exceptional double bass by Pietro-Antonio Testore, generously loaned by Xavier and Joséphine Moreno. Lorraine Campet is sponsored by the string brand Pirastro.
Since October 1st, 2024, she has been principal solo double bassist with the Paris Opera Orchestra and was named "Instrumental Soloist Revelation" at the 2025 Victoires de la Musique awards.
