Biography

Joanna Jakubas studied at the Manhattan School of Music in New York and at the Royal College of Music in London. Whilst still a student, she took part in the Vocal Arts Symposium in Spoleto. She gave her first stage performance in 2007 in Poland at the Krynica Festival and in 2011, she won the Jan Kiepura Theatrical Music Award in the category ‘best debut of the year’.
Since 2010, she has worked with the Jan Kiepura Mazovian Theatre in Warsaw and performed in concert at the Lutoslawski Concert Hall, at Polish Radio and at the Warsaw Opera with the Katowice Orchestra, the Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra, the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra.
She has taken part in a concert featuring Andrea Bocelli at the Guardia Stadium in Warsaw and in an Ennio Morricone concert in Kraków at which she performed an extract from the soundtrack of the film The Mission. She has also recorded original music by composers such as Paul Pritchard and Matthew Moore for the sound tracks of films directed by Wojciech Wojcik, Ryszard Zatorski and Robert Glinski.
Debut at the Paris Opera.
