Jérôme Levatois

Biography
Jérôme discovered rock music at the age of 14. He spent countless hours strumming his electric guitar, recreating the fiery solos of Guitar Heroes, from Led Zeppelin to Jimi Hendrix, with stops at Guns N’ Roses and Pink Floyd. Entirely self-taught, he honed his craft instinctively. Naturally curious, he gradually explored other instruments—bass, drums, percussion, keyboards, banjo… Drawn to singing from an early age, he became Choir Director of the vocal group Les Voisins du Dessus alongside Jean-Marie Leau in 2000. In 2010, he co-founded the band Somewhere Else with M. Nizet and S. Blanc, and composed music for the TV series Cœur Océan (France 2). This launched his adventure in television composition, which continued with the group Otherside Production, writing music for various programs on France Télévisions, Canal+, Arte, and more.
He notably composed the theme song for the popular show Des trains pas comme les autres on France 5. Alongside this, Jérôme continued composing and performing with Basque singer Anne Etchegoyen, producing two albums for her: Compostelle (2017) and Emazte (2020). In 2022, at the invitation of his friend and fellow composer Alexandre Dai Castaing, Jérôme joined the Chriki’Z Company to take part in the final creative phase of the piece fiBraM—a new opportunity to explore uncharted sonic territory with a new instrument: the oud.
