Holder of a postgraduate diploma from the Juilliard School in New York, composer and performer Jennifer Curtis has appeared as a soloist with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra in Venezuela, performed her own mini-concerto with the Knights Chamber Orchestra, and given solo performances at Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, and the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, as well as presenting world premieres at the Mostly Mozart Festival, among others.
An improviser, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, she appears on numerous recordings, including Invisible Ritual with Tyshawn Sorey and Routes of Evanescence with Ariana Kim.
She is currently completing an album devoted to rarely performed and previously unrecorded repertoire by violinist and composer George Enescu. As a composer, she has been in residence at Cornell University, has written works in India for classical dance, and has been featured at the Spoleto Festival USA and the Verbier Festival.
She has given masterclasses on performance through improvisation and applied music theory at institutions including the Oberlin Conservatory, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and Cornell University.
She plays a 1777 violin by Vincenzo Panormo.
