After studying literature at the Sorbonne, applied arts at Olivier de Serres, and theater at the Sorbonne Nouvelle, Damien Caille-Perret joined the Théâtre National de Strasbourg to study scenography. There, he created his first stage productions while nurturing a curiosity for the interdisciplinary nature of learning.
Since then, he has worked on over a hundred productions as a scenographer, and sometimes also as a costume designer, videographer, or puppeteer, collaborating with directors such as Yves Beaunesne, Sylvain Maurice, Nicolas Struve, Olivier Werner, Edith Scob, Dominique Valadié, Nicolas Liautard, Betty Heurtebise, Laure Bonnet, Arnaud Meunier, Maëlle Poesy, Vincent Garanger, Pauline Sales, Laurent Joyeux, Pascale Daniel-Lacombe, and Yves Lenoir.
He has led the company Cie des Têtes en Bois, whose work was interdisciplinary, combining theater, music, and/or puppetry. He has directed musical productions, theater, and operas on numerous stages in France and abroad. Eager for new experiences, he designed the scenography for the new National Drama Center in Poitiers, the Méta Up, plans a staging of Exécuteur 14 by Adel Hakim, and is working on a graphic novel.
At the Paris Opera: Carmen, 2012.
