Biography

Christophe Dumaux performs on the greatest international opera stages: Metropolitan Opera New York, Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin, Paris Opera, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Wiener Staatsoper, Theater an der Wien, Lyric Opera Chicago… He has sung under many conductors, including René Jacobs, William Christie, Emmanuelle Haïm, Gianluca Capuano, Giovanni Antonini, Harry Bicket, Andrea Marcon, Ivor Bolton, Philippe Jaroussky and Francesco Corti, and collaborated with stage directors such as David McVicar, Robert Carsen, Calisto Bieito, Barrie Kosky, David Alden and Richard Jones.

Recent highlights include the roles of Ottone (Agrippine) at Hamburg Opera, Tolomeo (Giulio Cesare) at Teatro alla Scala, Milan, the title-role in Orlando at Theater an der Wien, Polinesso (Ariodante) at Wiener Staatsoper, Salzburg Festival, Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Athamas (Sémélé) at the Opernhaus Zürich.

His repertoire also includes Vivaldi (Melindo in La verità in cimento at Opernhaus Zürich) or Cavalli (title-role in Il Giasone at Opera Antwerpen and Endimione in La Calisto at Teatro alla Scala). Christophe Dumaux also performs concerts and recently sang Handel’s Messiah with the Orchestre métropolitain de Montréal. In the 2022/23 season, he performs the title-roles of Il Giustino at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Berlin, and of Giulio Cesare at the Dutch National Opera.
