Biography

A graduate of the University of Han Yang (Seoul), Chae Wook Lim has also studied Lied and Oratorio in Austria, notably at the University of Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna. He has been awarded numerous prizes including first prize at the Kyungwon University Competition in Seoul (1994), the Petyrek-Lang Competition in Vienna (2006) and the Sixth International Competition for Sacred Music in Rome (2007). He has taken part in a number of concerts and recitals of Lieder and has performed the roles of Orpheus in Gluck’s Orpheus and Eurydice, Gugliemo in Così fan tutte, Stefano in Viva la Mamma, the Count in Marriage of Figaro and Marcello in La Bohème in Vienna, Belcore in The Elixir of Love in Korea and First Mate in Billy Budd in Paris. He is a member of the Paris Opera Chorus.
