Biography

Originally from Valencia, Spain, Carlos Sanchis Aguirre obtained his solo piano degree from the Higher Conservatory of Music of Zaragoza (Aragon) in 2015 before entering the Haute École de Musique de Genève where he obtained his master's degree in 2018. 

He completes his training at the Villecroze Music Academy with Louis Lortie in 2018, then with the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester as an accompanying pianist before joining the Georg Solti Academy in Venice and the Plácido Domingo Improvement Center in Valencia in 2019. 

Between 2016 and 2019 he was a member of several youth orchestras in Europe, with whom he toured extensively, such as with the Netherlands Youth Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Madrid and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. He works with conductors Christoph Eschenbach and David Afhkam, as well as violinist Frank Peter Zimmermann. 

Carlos Sanchis Aguirre joined the Académie de l'Opéra national de Paris in September 2021.
