Biography
Australian artist Candice Mac is based in London and works across set and costume design, illustration, animation, directing, and writing. For the stage, she has created productions for Victorian Opera, including Four Saints in Three Acts, The Pied Piper, Cinderella, The Princess and the Pea, The Snow Queen, Pelléas et Mélisande, A Little Night Music, and Alice through the Opera Glass; for State Opera South Australia (Madeline Lee); for Rambert (Home, Never to Forget, Peaky Blinders: The Redemption of Thomas Shelby trailer); and for the Southbank Centre (Alehouse Sessions).
As a writer and director, she has created numerous theatre works, including The Midnight Snack, The Graveyard Snack, and The Island of Moor.
In film, she directed the dance film ICARUS and created two animated short films, Clara and Claus and Saintly. Her illustrations have been exhibited at the Donmar Warehouse, the Edinburgh Meadows Festival, and in People of Theatre magazine, and have accompanied the work of musicians including The Last Morrell, Max Clilverd, and Michaela Tempers.
