Bruno Girveau is Honorary Chief Heritage Curator and former Director of the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille (PBA), where he served from 2013 to 2024. He has curated numerous exhibitions, including À table au XIXth siècle at the Musée d’Orsay (2002), Once Upon a Time… Walt Disney at the Grand Palais (2006), Toys and Men at the Grand Palais (2011), Joie de vivre (2015) and The Enchanted Forest (2022) at the PBA.
A specialist in architectural history, he was Head of the Architecture Collections at the Musée d’Orsay from 1996 to 2002. During the same period, he also served as scientific advisor for Arte’s Architectures series and worked on the episode devoted to the Palais Garnier, directed in 2001 by Stan Neumann. He was also General Curator of the exhibition “Charles Garnier. An Architect for an Empire” at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2010, with scenography by Robert Carsen. Today, he works as an independent exhibition curator.
