A member of the Meta4 quartet since 2006, Atte Kilpeläinen studied at the Sibelius Academy and the University of Cologne. Since 2005, he has been the principal viola of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra. He has been invited to perform with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Stockholm and the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester. As a soloist, he has performed with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tapiola Sinfonietta, the Cologne Chamber Orchestra and the Kuopio and Oulu Orchestras. He has been teaching at the Sibelius Academy since 2012 and also gives masterclasses at the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival.
