Arthur Legros Violin

Biography

Artist in residence at the Academy since September 2026

Arthur Legros began playing the violin at the age of six. He pursued his musical training at the Toulouse Regional Conservatoire with Nina Likht and Nathalie Descamps before entering the Paris Conservatoire (Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris). There, he studied violin with Roland Daugareil, David Grimal, and Petteri Iivonen, and further developed his chamber music skills with Claire Désert, Michaël Hentz, and François Salque.

After joining the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra as a first violinist in 2022, he became a member of the Verbier Festival Orchestra in 2024, performing under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle, Jaap van Zweden, Charles Dutoit, Teodor Currentzis, and Klaus Mäkelä. He has also taken part in masterclasses with Boris Garlitsky, Dmitri Sitkovetsky, Vadim Gluzman, Liviu Prunaru, and Christoph Poppen.

Arthur Legros joined the Academy of the Paris National Opera in September 2026.
