Biography

Agnes Zwierko performs regularly in opera houses in her native Poland as well as abroad, including Milan’s La Scala, the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the Wexford Festival, London’s Royal Opera House, the Glyndebourne Festival, La Monnaie in Brussels, the Royal Danish opera in Copenhagen, the State Opera in Prague, the Leipzig Opera, the Dresden Semperoper, the Berlin Komische Oper, the Berlin Staatsoper Unter den Linden, the ABAO in Bilbao, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, and the Montreal Opera. Her repertoire of roles includes Amneris (Aida), Eboli (Don Carlo), Madame Larina (Eugene Onegin), Ljubov (Mazepa), Kundry (Parsifal), Ludmila (The Bartered Bride), Kostelnička (Jenůfa), Kabanicha (Kátia Kabanová), Ježibaba (Rusalka), Madame de la Haltière (Cendrillon), La Frugola (Il Tabarro), the Princess (Suor Angelica), Zita (Gianni Schicchi), Klytamnestra (Elektra), and Jocaste (Œdipus Rex). She has sung under the direction of numerous conductors, including Gabriel Chmura, Jan Latham-Koenigs, Patrick Lange, Henrik Nanasi, Carlo Montanaro, Donato Renzetti, Bruno Campanella, Evelino Pido, Renato Palumbo, Antonio Pappano, Michael Schønwandt, Josep Pons, Ivor Bolton, Alain Altinoglu, and Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Since 2017, she has been teaching voice at the Frederic Chopin University of Music in Bialystok.
