Adolfo Corrado Bass

Biography

Born in 1994, Adolfo Corrado was trained at the Augusto Zucchi Theatre and Film School in Rome. He then studied singing at the Tito Schipa Conservatory in Lecce, where he perfected his vocal skills under the guidance of Maestro Gianluca Belfiori. He continued his training at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino as a member of the Young Artist Project under Maestro Gianni Tangucci. In 2021 he won the international competition Toti dal Monte and the role of Don Pasquale in the opera of the same name.

He also won the As.Li.Co. International Competition in 2022, which earned him the role of Leporello (Don Giovanni), and the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition in 2023. Recent engagements have taken him to the Teatro Petruzzelli (Don Pasquale, The Barber of Seville, La Bohème), the Arena di Verona (Nabucco), La Fenice in Venice (The Lombards in the First Crusade, La Bohème, Beethoven's Symphony no. 9), Teatro Regio in Turin (Turandot, La Scuola de' Gelosi, Lélio), Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Œdipus Rex, Siberia, Tosca), Salzburg Festival (Tosca), Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia (Don Giovanni), La Scala, Milan (Andrea Chénier), Festival della Valle d'Itria, Martina Franca (The Turk in Italy), Teatro Comunale, Bologna (Count Ory), Festival Donizetti, Bergamo (Alfredo il Grande), Festival Torre del Lago (La Bohème), Teatro di San Carlo, Naples (Mozart's Mass in C Minor), Théâtre du Capitole, Toulouse (La Cenerentola), Opéra royal de Wallonie, Liège (Les Capulet et les Montaigu), Opéra de Rouen (Aida) and the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia (Le Trouvère) under the baton of Daniel Oren, Zubin Mehta, Maurizio Benini, Gianandrea Noseda, Renato Palumbo, Daniele Gatti, Jordi Bernàcer, Sebastiano Rolli, Stefano Montanari and Nikolas Nägele.
