Adam Smith performs on the world’s leading opera stages. Among his most notable recent roles are Don José (Carmen) at the Royal Opera House in London, Mario Cavaradossi (Tosca) at the Staatsoper Hamburg, and Romeo (Roméo et Juliette) at the Washington National Opera. Last season, he made his debut as Radamès (Aida) at the Opéra de Rouen-Normandie.
He has also sung The Prince (Rusalka) at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples and Pinkerton (Madame Butterfly) at the Lyon National Opera, made his debut at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin as Pinkerton, and performed Julien (Louise) at the Aix-en-Provence Festival. In the 2025–2026 season, he will perform Radamès at the Washington National Opera, Pinkerton and Rodolfo (La Bohème) for his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Julien at the Lyon National Opera, and The Prince with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
