It is Benjamin Millepied's wish to structure the dance residence around ballet composition. Given the difficulty of finding the considerable resources needed to stage a production, very few young independent choreographers ever have the opportunity to write a piece for more than ten dancers. For this first year of choreographic residence, Benjamin Millepied has selected Sébastien Bertaud and Simon Valastro, two dancers from the Paris Opera Ballet. Over a period of at least three weeks each, they will work with some twenty young dancers from the prestigious Paris National Conservatoire of Music and Dance and will thus be able to create their dance works under the attentive gaze of Benjamin Millepied and the Ballet’s associate artist, William Forsythe.
A presentation of the workshop will be held on Saturday February 6th at Saint Quentin.
