Rémi Chaulet was born in Brive-la-Gaillarde and
studied piano, piano accompaniment, conducting, voice, and teaching at the
Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional in Lyon and then at the Conservatoire
National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris where he earned a degree as an accompanist in 2016. He trained as a voice coach under Guiomar
and Nathalie Dang and received instruction from conductors George Pehlivanian
and Claire Levacher. He then continued his training in Germany at the
Musikhochschule in Hanover under the guidance of Anne Champert, Martin Brauß and Justus Zeyen. In 2012, he provided the
accompaniment for the masterclass of baritone Marcin Habela (Tibor Varga
Academy of Music). He is invited regularly to participate in the annual opera
productions at the Haute École de Musique in Geneva (The Threepenny Opera in
2013 with Nicolas Farine conducting and Kiss me Kate in 2017 under the
direction of Nader Abbassi). From 2014 to 2018, he provided the accompaniment
for the masterclasses of Stuart Patterson and Gilles Cachemaille. In 2017 and
2018 he was the accompanying pianist for the Chœur de la Trinité with Till Aly
conducting. As part of his studies, he conducts the Conservatoire de Paris’s
orchestra of award winners and he works each summer in Courchevel with small
children’s and youth instrumental ensembles. Rémi Chaulet joined the
Paris Opera Academy in September 2018.
