L'Elisir d'amore, by Anne-Lise Boutin
To mark its anniversary season, the Paris Opera
is inviting illustrators to reinvent the posters for its productions and to
offer their own personal vision of each work. Anne-Lise
Boutin has chosen Gaetano Donizetti's L'Elisir d'amore, running at the
Opéra Bastille until November 25th. We discover the young Nemorino under the
influence of a "love potion", none other than wine, and harassed by
his female suitors. The countryside decor recalls Laurent Pelly's bucolic
staging.
