To mark its anniversary season, the Paris Opera invites illustrators to reinvent posters for its productions and to offer us their own interpretation of each work. Kevin Lucbert focusses on Giacomo Meyerbeer's "Les Huguenots," currently on the stage of the Opéra Bastille. Playing with scale he reflects the struggle of the two protagonists, Raoul and Valentine, and their tormented relationship in the historical context of rivalry between Catholics and Protestants. The characters advance masked in order to hide their feelings or their religious obedience.
